10 QUESTIONS WITH DAFFNEY

She made a huge mark in WCW both at the side of David Flair then Crowbar. Her trademark scream and ability to take bumps and do highspots quickly made her a fan favorite. Even now, out of the spotlight, Daffney has a cult like following. We are fotunate enough to present to you 10 Questions With... the one, the ony, Shannon Ward aka DAFFNEY!!!

Prior to entering WCW were you a fan of professional wresting at all? If so, who were some of your favorites?
George "the animal" Steele, Junkyard Dog, Jimmy "Superfly " Snuka, Andre the Giant

How did you get involved in the business? How did you even learn about the spot in WCW?
My agent got me an audition

Were you encouraged to start taking bumps, or did you do that on your own?
I did that on my own. I had already begun to go to the power plant on my days off at home and then, last summer Vince Russo made it manditory for us to go twice a week

Was it easy for you to learn the moves and spots you did? Not everyone can fly off the top rope and do hurricanranas and such.
Some spots are harder than others. Crowbar is a great teacher, though. Surprisingly, the hurricanranas were fairly easy.

What was the toughest transition into the business for you?
Probably all the traveling. I didn't realize how tiring sitting on an airplane could be.

Were you surprised at the immediate and positive response from the fans?
Yes, I was flattered, and it encouraged me to make Daffney's character more three dimensional

How did you find out about your release from WCW? Was is a complete surprise or did you have an idea it was coming?
Yes, it was a surprise. Johnny Ace called me and said that they were going to go in a new direction with the company.

What was your most memorable moment, thus far, in the business?
Probably taking the figure four from Ric Flair (say that five times real fast), or becoming the Cruiserweight champion.

What are your future plans both in the business and out?
I would love to continue screamin' in the wrestling world, or play character roles in film or television

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Wherever the good lord takes me!
